Peter Bazan studied computer science at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and received his diploma in the field of performance evaluation of computer systems. He worked for several years as an employed consultant for industrial projects, later as an independent consultant. During his self-employment he also worked in the group for Analytical Modeling and Process Automation at FAU. Since 2001 he has worked in various positions at the Chair of Computer Networks and Communication Systems, where he received his PhD. His research interests lies in the modelling and analysis of complex systems. This includes the performance evaluation of computer networks, communication and production systems, as well as the hybrid simulation of renewable energy systems and smart grids.
