Thomas Kleinert has been a research assistant and doctoral student at the Chair of Business Mathematics and the Chair of Economic Theory at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg since 2017. He deals with multi-level mathematical optimization problems and works in particular on algorithmic methods for such problems and their efficient implementation. At the Energy Campus Nürnberg he applies this knowledge to analyze various regulatory measures of energy market design. These current questions immediately lead to challenging, multi-level optimization problems and are highly relevant from both a mathematical and an economic point of view.
