Peter Bazan studied Computer Science at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and was awarded his diploma for a thesis on the performance evaluation of computing systems. He worked for several years as a salaried consultant on industrial projects, then as a freelance consultant. Whilst working as a self-employed consultant, he also worked in the Group for Analytical Modelling and Process Automation at FAU. Since 2001, he has held various positions at the Chair of Computer Networks and Communication Systems, where he also completed his PhD.
His research interests lie in the modelling and analysis of complex systems. This includes performance evaluation of computer networks, communication and production systems, as well as hybrid simulation of renewable energy systems and smart grids.
