Energy Economics and Energy Informatics

Research in this area brings together key expertise in the safe, efficient, and intelligent design of modern energy systems. A key focus is on developing resilient and secure communication and control structures in networked, cyber-physical infrastructures. In addition, research is conducted on optimization methods under uncertainty, as well as data-driven and AI-based methods for forecasting, control, and decision-making. By combining simulation, modeling, and numerical methods, complex energy systems are realistically modeled and options for action are quantitatively evaluated.
