Susanna Bordin joined the office team as the new research coordinator on 12 January 2026. In future, she will further strengthen EnCN's cross-institutional research, expand structures for the qualification of young scientists and promote cooperation with energy companies in the Nuremberg metropolitan region.
2021–present: PhD at Paracelsus Medical University of Salzburg
2015–2025: Research assistant at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences, Nuremberg, Energy Campus Nuremberg – Energy-efficient building services systems
2014: Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Energy Engineering, specialising in Renewable Energy Technology, RWTH Aachen University
2012: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Energy Engineering, RWTH Aachen University
Work on various research projects, including:
- Development of ventilation strategies for schools (BMWSB)
- Development of a room laboratory (in collaboration with NCT)
- Development of a multifunctional façade element with integrated photovoltaics (BMWi (BMWK))
- Technology transfer relating to load and energy management in building services engineering (European Regional Development Fund)
- Development of an energy-saving window with an adjustable shading device (ZIM project)
