Project RABE
The “RABE” project aims to develop a squeegee robot for printed electronics – including applications in photovoltaics, fuel cells and batteries. As experimentation and coating in printed electronics have so far been carried out manually, there is a lack of laboratory robots capable of performing complex tasks reliably and cost-effectively.
The absence of such a robot significantly prolongs development times in the high-dimensional parameter spaces. This is partly due to the slow pace of manual experimentation, but above all because of the wide variation in results caused by manual processing – from experimenter to experimenter, in the timing of procedures, and in the sequence of manual steps.
SCIPRIOS has already launched a robot for automated spin-coating. The very positive feedback from customers, research institutes and universities shows that there will be high demand for such laboratory robots. The ‘RABE’ project now aims to develop a robot for the more complex but widely used coating process – squeegee coating.
