Solar modules consisting of up to 30 individual cells were manufactured by using full area coating and subsequently laser ablation. Area losses due to interconnects can be reduced to 5% through the use of a femtosecond laser with galvo head. The interconnect structures are barely visible to the naked eye. In this way, modules with arbitrary cell shapes can be created.
