Solar TAP

The Solar Tap project is an initiative of the Helmholtz Association and brings together three leading Helmholtz Centres: Forschungszentrum Jülich, Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
The overarching aim of the project is to accelerate the deployment of new printed photovoltaic technologies such as organic and perovskite solar cells. In collaboration with 50 industry partners, new potential for solar energy is being tapped by integrating the technologies into existing surfaces in the fields of agriculture, construction and transport.
The focus is not only on the development of innovative photovoltaic technologies, but also on rapid transfer from the laboratory to the factory. This ensures that research results are swiftly scaled up for commercial application and that sustainable solutions are put into practice.
